Hi Carlos,
Intriging eyes which is the most strongest point in the whole photo, but also his face expression, really wondering what you were doing here. I love the close up setting, close as possible, but also the choice for b&w. The strong vignette is perhaps a bit to much for my taste, but i like the effect. Sharp on the eyes, perfect. See his lips....very intriging, really good work.

There is a great deal of the light in those eyes...

A bit more of a cropping would bring that world enclosed in his eyes much closer to us...

Belo portrait muito bem capturado, as expressões do garotinho estão impressionantes, e olhar dele é uma extrema profundidade, parece até que o estamos observando ao vivo. Este retrato está fantástico. A escolha do P/B e do grão foram muito acertadas. O miúdo tem uma expressão sensacional e parece que estava muito intrigado pelo que se estava a passar ao seu redor. É uma foto muito linda e certamente que os pais gostariam de ter uma cópia ampliada, se é que já nãoa têm.

Algo diferente do que costumo ver em sua galeria, mas um belo retrato, mostrando, como em sua nota, a miscigenação do povo brasileiro!
O preto e branco ficou excelente para o caso em tela (coisa de advogado esse "caso em tela").
Em resumo, um excelente retrato infantil!

Interesting facts about Euro-Japanese in Brazil, I know there is a big Jap. community there and Brazil have a VERY mixed population... Anyway, you got a fine B&W portrait here, slightly off centered, with no BG disturbances. I like how his eyes are very sharp, while the skin texture is very smooth.

aquele nada de cinza mais claro (a parte de traz da camiseta, à direita de quem olha) atrai o olhar, de modo que acho que ficaria melhor se fosse escurecida.

Lindo retrato deste brasileirinho. Os olhos estao lindissimos, tao cristalinos e fortes olhando diretamente para voce. Da ate para ver o reflexo do fotografo!
Adorei o trabalho no WS valorizou ainda mais a foto, foi bom nao ter usando o sharpen tool, assim deu uma imagem tipo foto tirada com filme. Bravo!

I have to say that before opening the thumbnail I didn't think I would like the photo too much, but I'm happy to be wrong :) excellent portrait, Carlos, the postproduction you have chosen works very well, for some reason it reminds me of old Italian movies. the serious look is captivating, and vignetting nicely focuses attention on the eyes. excellent work, my compliments.

those eyes are magnificent. i think, i can even distinguish you in them. i agree with polonaise though: bringing/placing those eyes into a compositionally more active spot would make the portrait even more expressive. try to scroll the photo on your browser, so that the top is hidden to the point that the eyes sit on the top 1/3 horizontal line. ;)

This is a very engaging image you can't just glance at it and look away. It draws my attention, I can't help but stare at his eyes for a long time Simple portrait, but such an expression of pure emotion. Like a really fine pencil drawing effect to it.
