Photographer's Note
The view from Sugarloaf mountain (Pão de Açúcar) in Rio de Janeiro. The district in front is Botofogo, with the famous Christ Statue to the top-left of the photo. Beyond the mountains on the right is Copacabana.
Please, any advice to how this photo can be improved would be greatly appreciated!

Hola Jon,
Great night picture. Good job with lights. Just one proposition, I think it will be better with just a little less of sky and with all the building, down in the middle, complet in the picture.Good job.
Best regards, and welcome to TE,
Javier (Sorry for my English)

I'm a big fan of large dark spaces, but in this case I would crop out much (not all) of the left side; it adds nothing. I would also reduce the brightness of the building lights in the foreground. As Javier says, taking away a little of the sky would do as well. Don't be afraid to crop to a non-standard size.
It's a fabulous photo! I find the diffuse glow behind the first hills especially intriguing. But don't crop so that glow is in the center; that would lessen the intrigue.

Welcome to TE Jon!
Nice classical view from Sugar Loaf!
Did you use a tripod?
I would not had included the Babilonia mountain to the left. It is also too much sky.
I made a workshop, but doing this with a photo of that small size isn't that effective...
Nice Sunday!
Keep on posting
