Photographer’s Note
Mostly known by its geography, a (not so) new 'must-see' sights in Rio de Janeiro are the ghetos (a.k.a. 'favelas') specially this one, 'Rocinha' the largest 'favela' in Rio (here shown at the center of the picture, over the mountain).
This picture was taken at dusk, and it presents the ever growing Rocinha community between the Morro Dois Irmãos (Two Brothers Mountain, by the left) and Pedra da Gavea (Gavea's Rockor TopSail Rock, right side of it). Enhancing the landscape conflicts, you have Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon) and a mid/high-class neighborhood called Lagoa (or Lagoon District).
Enjoy!
