Photographer’s Note

Last weekend I had the idea of taking new photos, but the weather was lousy, so this time it will be something from my archives.

This is a beach named Muro Alto (which would be ‘High Wall’) and this is because of a natural stone formation that extends for about 3 kilometers in front of the shore-line, thus creating a ‘swimming pool’ with very calm water, great for water sports. When I took the photo, the water was about my waist.

The place is in the state of Pernambuco, and located between Porto de Galinhas (you can see other posts here and here) and Cabo de Santo Agostinho.

Although the portion of beach that I show looks rather natural, there are some big resorts (behind my POV) and still worse, a big industrial port (Suape) where a huge oil refinery will be built a little far ahead.

Raw Capture at ISO 100 – f11 – 1/500s @ 28 mm + CP filter
Post processing: Raw file conversion (ACR) to TIF, then (PS CS) cropping; levels; USM; resize; very light USM, and save for the TE.

Nice colors Carlos! I think you could show more the land, to equilibrate the landscape.

Another perspective showing only sky and sea (blue and green) qill gave a interstin result.

There's no industries and no resorts, even no people...
Great picture, as usual from you.
I liked the Jangada in the WS and I think it deserve a place in the gallery.

This is absoltely gorgeous in terms of colours...rich & deep. The sky contrasts well with the sea, as if separated by the yatch. The ripply waters in the FG is interesting & so is the tongue of land protruding on the left

A wonderfully rich colour and a placid scene too. The contrast between the deep blue sky and the turquoise waters is nice and balanced by the yellow craft. A scene that one can drift away in. Nice work.

Olá Carlos,
É a prova de que as imagens nem sempre mostram aquilo que o sítio é. Vejo esta imagem fantástica, tão atraente e sugestiva, muito apropriada para a época de férias em que nos encontramos, mas pelos vistos temos grandes resorts e uma zona industrial atrás de nós :(
A água cristalina e aquele azul fantástico fazem uma bela atmosfera de vereneio e as imagens extras são excelentes também - gosto especialmente da que tem o barco. Obrigado também pelos links para os teus posts anteriores (o que é bom para mim, que ainda estou a aconhecer a tua galeria).

Qué belleza y transparencia del agua, qué cielo tan bonito, qué colores tan vivos, y qué paisaje!
Me gusta el contraste que tienen el cielo y el mar con la orilla oscura llena de vegetación, y las barcas le dan un toque amarillo muy gracioso.

I like your photo. The palms on the left are a bit dark but despite from this, the colors are bright and natural and the photo is sharp and well composed.

Hi Carlos,
The dappled waves with the shallow water and sand visible beneath really takes the eye and heart here. One wishes to be here. I like also the gradations in hue of the water as one works one's gaze through the frame. The boat helps anchor the shot. An idyllic spot, like a giant tropical bathtub...Well done.

Now I understand why you haven't been so active lately! I wouldn't also with such wonders surrounding me... I like the way you've composed this one with the low pov showing us this crystline water, that contrasts so well with the blue sky. I also like this thin horizon line, and the way you brake water and sky with the boat and the beach on the left side.Well done.

que cores, que brilho !!!
o céu está numa cor fabulosa, a água cristalina; gostei do contraste entre o azul mais forte da pagua ao fundo, e a cor mais transparente na frente, ficou um ângulo muito bom. parabéns!! :)

Hola Carlos, you captured the essence of any tropical shoreline. Pristine waters, calm and transparent. The yellow boat in the middle of the scene give a good point of view and enhances the whole composition.

Wow!! Your photo of this beautiful beach makes me wish I were there, I guess you were wishing that too when you posted. The colors of the tranparent water as it deepens to cerrulean and the azure blue of the sky have ince=redible clarity. The boat riding on the water provides an excellent focal point.
