Photographer's Note
The name "Rio Iguaçu" (Iguassu River) come from the indian term that means "big water". It´s the most well know river from Paraná's state, southern Brazil. It's nascent is in the Curitiba's (Paraná's capital) plateau, nearby the "Serra do Mar" (Sea's Sierra). After 1.320Km, the river flow into the "Rio Paraná" (Paraná River), and divide Paraná and its neighbour state Santa Catarina, and consist in a border between Brasil (Paraná) and Argentina. "Rio Iguçu" generates 12,9 millions of KW hydroelectric energy to the southern region of Brazil! (In one single hidroelectric station, Itaipú.)
The great attraction of this river is the "Cataratas do Iguaçu" (Iguassu Falls), for sure. It has been discovered in 1541, and it is 27Km from the brazilian city of "Foz do Iguaçu", and consist in 275 falls with 70 meters average high and 2.780 meters large! It deserves a big WOW, you are right!
I took this picture in Tamanduá region, around 50km from Curitiba, so, far from the falls. I´ve been there in the falls maybe 6 times, but I was not a photo addicted like today. So, I´m in debt. I promisse to do something next time to post here. But there are already nice posts here from others!
If you are planning to visit Brazil, don´t miss the wonderful "Iguaçu Falls"!
Regards!

Interesting shot Zeca;
I like the combination of the silhouettes along with the flash-lit nearby branches.
Quite a different type of image from Iguacu then what we normally see for sure...
Yes, I have been to Iguacu before. My father used to work at a forestry mill, just south of the falls, on the banks of the parana river.
Nice memories...
Thanks for sharing Zeca,
- Dan

Another abstract beauty. It's hard to tell the difference between the sky and the reflection, because both are so sharp. There is such a nice light in the sky. The green adds a splash of bold colour. Nice one.

I don't normally like flash on photos but the effect here is lovely. (maybe I should open my mind more) The background with the stunning reflections is wonderful, but the inclusion of the green leaves thanks to the flash has created a magical image.

Beijo

Ola Zeca, a parte tecnica desta foto e bastante surpreendente. O flash da a ideia de ser uma foto tirada no crepusculo e contrasta extremamente bem com a floresta escura. Porem a surpesa e a exposicao de 1/1250s.
Resultado estupefante!

Hi Jose - beautiful reflections, the flash lit leaves at left make an interesting contrast with the silhoettes

Bon dia José,
This one is absolutely stunning for its light techniques. Like rowing in a boat by night through the deep forest.
Great job with much respect from my side
Thanks
