Photographer’s Note

This shot was taken at the National Center for Soybean Research, located about 20 km from downtown. On the foreground is a corn field and some experimental plots behind. On the background you can see the buildings that compose downtown Londrina. I live near those two towers on the top right.

J'aime beaucoup le contraste entre ces deux champs, et les couleurs de celui qui est en second plan sont saisissantes. Bien vu.

Joli cliché de ces champs avec leurs longues trainées rouges. Le 1er plan donne beaucoup de profondeur à l'image.

Olá, Ricardo! Essa foto dá conta do quanto se relaciona a pujança da cidade com o campo, que um dia foi do café e hoje é da soja. As cores são muito vivas (verde e terra, excelentes!) e os contrastes cidade-campo bem equilibrados. Parabéns! Miguel.

good dof but the saturation is a bit too much for my taste. anyway i like teh way you kept the lines on the field in the frame.

Very nice picture! I like so much the colours and the contrast to the cityline. A found a little bit too much saturation on the city, but it is BG, so it´s not any problem to the beatiful 5* picture!

Hi Ricardo, what a great combination of nature, land use and suburbia...it is like different textures mean different lifestyles...well done. I love the sharpness and colour of the foreground corn. Nicely framed also.

This is like a mosaic..the DOF is good, but I think you've saturated a wee too much if I judge by the BG. But excellent perspective nonetheless

Hi Ricardo, A nice contrast of the beautiful countryside scenery with the city in the background. Impressive lines and curves in the field. Good clear view of the field in comparing with the hazy view of the city.

The fronting objects are very fine presented with such vivid colors.
But, I found the far distance city is a bit off its color in blue.
The three layers creating the color contrast work very well.

Really good work on this series. I love this shot. The attractive corn field in foreground has an excellent clear image with an expressive texture and the interesting pattern of the red field behind it, makes a good interplay bettween the foreground and the sight of Londrina in the background. Nice to see where you live.

This is a high impact shot. The inclusion of the leaves in the foreground is powerful stuff. They have great detail and contrast amazingly with the reddish landscape. The buildings in the distance are a nice completion to the scene. You have captured the picture in layers - nice and distinct. Well done.

I like very much your idea of contrasting the city on the background, the vegetation on the foreground, and in-between, the nice patterns on the terrain.

The vivid colors (and the contrast between them, specially because of the 'terra vermelha') are great.

Excellent use of layers in your composition. The focus on the corn is good and the red and green stripes in the field behind make an excellent contrast. As others have said I think the city and sky is a bit over-saturated, but on the whole a fine image full of impact.

Hello Ricardo, it's amazing to see so much greenery this close to the city. I like the detail in the foreground plants. The red and green stripes of the field makes for an interesting pattern.

"Towns should be built at the countryside" used to say a french Philosopher (we have a lot of these) and here its done.
Technicaly its well done with depth and choice in framing, nice colors and a very interesting subject.

Beautiful landscape photo, Ricardo with nice contrast between the city and the nature (clever title too). Nice composition and beautiful colours especially the red patterns. Maybe with a smaller aperture (for example f/8) you would have even better result as for Depth of field. Overall, a great picture.

A bold and mesmerizing view of these wonderful fields. I like the various layers of interest in the shot and the proportions you have tastefully set forth. The colours are not oversaturated, the perspective amazing, with superb DOF. This is very fine work.

Superb photograph, Ricardo. I like the layered effect of this, not only achieved through the different colours but also the level of focus and sharpness. Saturation is perfect. Maybe I would have cropped a little more of the sky away though. Cheers . . . David

Cornfields in front, empty field after then the city with odd colors.

You should be interested with what it is done here in Quebec area with our corn fields and it will gives you some bizarre ideas of what to do when the corn is ripe and the birds are running after the seeds. Just click here and the corn will pop up.
