Photographer’s Note

Once more the Piracicaba river with this old sugar-cane mill. I like very much to shoot this place, a very peaceful, calm location... The highlight of this building (constructed in the beginnings of last century) is its ornamentation built capriciously with bricks, that are structural but also ornamental, used in the pilasters, balustrades and lintels.
Other constructions were added, as the warehouses that followed the same project and they were modulated in agreement with the necessary size.
In the Park of the Central Mill takes place the International Salon of Humor of Piracicaba. In this time the city becomes the capital of the graphic humor.
Every year from August until September compete in this festival the main cartoonists compete, designers, caricaturists from Brazil and of the most different areas of the world.
