[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
You can't go to Salvador de Bahia, a major city located on a pensinsula on Bahia's coast in Brazil's Northeast, without spending time in the old city of colorful colonial buildings, cobblestoned streets and a sense of history clustered around the Largo do Pelourinho.
This part of Salvador is known as Pelourinho, the city within a city.
Pelourinho means whipping post in Portuguese, and this was the old slave auction location in the days when slavery was common. Slavery was outlawed in 1835, and over time, this portion of the city, though home to artists and musicians, fell into disrepair. In the 1990's, a major restoration effort resulted in making the area a highly desirable tourist attraction. Pelourinho has a place on the national historic register and named a world cultural centery by UNESCO.

Kris very eyecatching photo. I love the colors and those trucks painted in such bright colors add a nice contrast to the scene. A wonderful capture of color and beauty. I love the old colonial designs. Well done in bright sunlight!

Nice perspective and nice colors, although I would have liked a little less saturation. It seems to be a very beautiful place. Sad (for the picture) that they are just doing some repair on one of the buildings

que des couleurs...une image haute en couleur

Nice colors. This is really a very beautiful place, full of history. I bet you align the vertical lines, so the perspective looks right. But the white tones are overexposed, maybe because software edition. You could eliminate noise on the sky by software. It's a pity you had these trucks in front of you, but I know that it's quite difficult to take a picture here without any car. A nice shot anyway. By the way, slavery was outlawed only in 1888, for our shame. And as far as I know, the city is named Salvador, only, there's an entry like this in TE. Bahia is the state. My two cents...

Witaj Kris!
Your photo is nicely. I like the colours and light. Good composition. Very impressive picture!
Regards
Krzysztof

Lindas cores, Kris! Muito interessante também o padrão arquitetônico. Boa nota! Parabéns

Nice shot, Kris.
Good colors but the sky is too noisy, not difficult to correct through PP.
I know pelourinho very well and also have some photos taken there.
Your note is excellent, but allow me to make a correction... slavery was outlawed here much later, in 1888... maybe the last country to abolish such a crime, unfortunately.
Bahia is the state in Brazil where the african culture is most spreaded and became a well known tourist attraction.
Thanks for the photo and information.
Very best regards and cheers from Brazil.

Celso
