Photographer’s Note
The day Elena and Isabel 'spoiled' me by taking me to the bridal street ;-), Isabel and I were waiting for Elena, and these children were waiting at the bus stop, so I got down on the ground as well, and shot them from behind. Then the girl noticed me and tipped her companion, as you can see in both workshop photos. I would have posted the first one if the boy would have had a different look, but I captured him with a strange look in his eyes. We all laughed at one another.
I often wonder how kids experience the world. I look at children walking at their parent's hand in a crowd, and seeing nothing. Will they ever like that? I do not remember how that was. Too bad, I think, I would like to have more such memories.
I do not remember what it meant for me, that I could read myself, so that I was not dependant anymore on other people. I remember going to the library by myself, and read, read, read. But I must have been a bit older than 6 years. I'm sure that the world opened up, which must be a wonderful experience, and I do NOT remember it anymore. Oh, my life stinks...;-)

I like the three photos but I think this is the best for TE. Precisely for what you tell us in the note... How do they see life? As far as I remember I think I have been looking for the fairy tale side of life since I have memories, and still working on it. Tomorrow I´ll be near you, in Brussels, but just for a few hours (to do an interview)... Take care dear.

Hi, Rinie
Good contrast between thoughtfulness of the children (they ARE thoughtful, even though we do not see their faces :) ) and the rhythm of the big city expressed by blurred traffic on the background.
Well done.

Hi Rinie,
A nice children capture and kids universe in a great town daily life seeing the cycle of street and cars motion. Curious and friendly, and they posed so well to you. A nice and great capture you did with your fine eye catch and sensibility. A great picture of daily life in the moment and with precious details.
Very well seen, decisive moment, a natural and healthy kids enjoying life taht the adults good or not so good gave to them in the present.
THanks very much for your picture and interesting compositions so well done and composed.
Best to you.

I see the street squat is alive and well in Sao Paulo Rinie - a really nice candid shot of these kids waching the world go by in little worlds of their own - a very nice perspective through them to the street and traffic behind -I think I could just sit and do that for an hour or two and be quite happy these days.
best wishes Kev

Its the POV here Rinie, we are there with the children seeing life pass by with their eyes. I wonder what they are talking to each other about, she looks so thoughtful.

Very cute candid shot, and what a good idea to get down to their level here. So you've still plenty left from that set.

Nice work and presentation of the two 'small folk' Rinie - and yes always a good idea to lever yourself down to the same level as the 'small folks'. Good use of the dof keeps focus on the children. Nice work

lovely daily life photo!!! Don't you just love the way that children 'hang in their knees'? some grown ups try to learn that again at yoga! ;-)

Very nice Rinie! I like everything about this image, street photography at its best. The blurred autos in the background add much to the crisp figures in the foreground. I note something at the bottom right that suggests you needed to do a bit of careful cropping to yield the image you wanted. I prefer this image that retains your anonymity, capturing a real scene as it happens. Fine work!
I'll restrain myself from comment on your note, especially your concluding statement. ;-)

Hi Rinnie.
A very cute shot with a nice title.
Seeing the world with children eyes and from a child's angle too. You have great success in presenting this one.
take care, Aleks

Great candid shot of these squating children, very good choice to shoot them from their persppective, we get closer to their world. I prefer this one above the ones in the WSt - generally I like shots were the photographer is not 'disturbing the scene' ;-) The DoF is well chosen. Lovely work,
CU 2morrow,

Great note rinie, i wonder about that too, what i thought about things as a kid, and what kids think when they are babys and have no words to put on their thoughts :o9 I looked through your workshops and I think this was a good choice. the girls gaze is just in our view and sahe looks so thoughtful, while her brother probably has a goofy smile on his face, being a boy and all :oD
It's cool, that the motorbike is just in between their heads.

Hi Rinie!
Great street shot. I like the fact that you are taking the picture at their height, like if you were a kid too! The seems to be in a very serious conversation. It's why I prefer that one to the ones in workshop. Good use of the right aperture, since the focus is right on them, with the cars and bike a little blurred. Very nice, candid shot!
