Soft Sand Beach II, a photo from Santa Catarina, South

Photographer's Note

Soft Sand Beach (Praia Mole in portuguese) is located on the east coast of Santa Catarina island. There are no buildings in this place just only sand, sea and sun. This beach has a soft sand and is the preferred of the young people.
In the workshop the photo without crop, you can see the rocks.

I like the soft and gentle sky contrasted with the churning waves of the ocean. The colours are also great. Well done!

Olhando à rochas na paisagem ninguém diria que o local seria tão mole assim… :-)

Boa luz e tonalidades. Penso que neste caso, se o horizonte fosse colocado mais próximo do terço superior de acordo com a regra dos terços a composição ganhava mais força. Para além de colocar o morro numa posição importante ficar-se-ia a ver em baixo a água o que criava um bom contraste entre o primeiro e o segundo plano, acentuado a sensação de perspectiva e dando profundidade à foto.

Great scene. I like the pov as it was taken from the boat. I like the grounds here: turbulent sea, calming greenery of the island and soft cloudy sky.
Good light also.

This picture jumps right at you. The beige rocks separate the ocean and sky, so both blues work well. Also the greens look real, not over process and the picture is sharp..great pic CK

Hi Leonor, A beautiful shot of the small island. The ocean wave makes a strong and dynamic feeling of this place. The island is well depicted with the contrast of the white and blue sky, and the white and blue ocean waves. An excellent picture with nice contrast, well use of light.

A fine composition, Leonor, full of dynamic action and good colour tones. Sharpness and contrast are ideal and the point of land angles into the frame at just the right spot for balance. The solft, tranquil greenery contrasts well with the angry sea.

Bom...bom...bom chega de mar calmo, temos que agitar as praias do Trek. Você deve ter tomado um belo banho com este mar agitado, por acaso não molhou a maquina...!

Um espanto!!!
E logo mar e praias que adoro. Excelente angulo, uma muito captura das ondas em movimento. As cores e tonalidades são naturais e o enquadramento destes elemntos é magnífico. Não será assim tão mole, com aqueles rochedos na WS :-)))

Nice shot! "Soft Sand Beach" sounds like some peaceful place where the sea is blue, warm and calm, but your photo shows its rough side. I like the rocks, the composition and the colours as well.

You definitely have some great Brazilian beach shots and this is one of them with fantastic lighting and shadows that complement each other. The sea is in the shade and this works wonderfully here giving us a bright and clear view of the outcrop

Hola Leonor.
Muchas veces el elemento más importante de una foto es la luz. Y después ya viene todo lo demás.
Pues bien, aquí la luz es sencillamente maravillosa: baña las rocas con unos tonos muy bonitos y deja el mar algo más oscuro (por las nubes puede que no alcancen todo el agua). El resultado es un contraste mayor entre la costa y el agua.
Y luego está el cielo... y luego hay tantas cosas...
Prefiero quedarme viendo la foto... vale la pena.
