Photographer’s Note
Thank you for your kind notes. Just to explain, how was this picture created. This is actually a real landscape north of Rio de Janeiro with real mountains. The original picture was nothing special. It has been beter colored, the mountain ridges were sliced and haze put in between them to emphesize them and of course the Moon was added. Thanks for advising me to place it on Trek Lense, I did not know about it. Will do next time. Cheers, Michael

Welcome to TE Michael. This is such a great first posting, one of the best first I can recall, no wonder it's already two peoples favourites, (though I no more left to choose). The receding hills are impressive enough, but that moon, and the effect of the clouds are just fantastic. Looking forward to your future postings.

This is very beautiful, but I am concerned that I dont think I can call it a photograph, It looks as though this is very heavily photomanipulated and like Chris said may be better placed on Trek Lens, but again it is a great picture and I woudl urge you to post some info about it, how you did it, where it is etc, after all the aim of this site is learning about the earth through photography!
Well done.

I don't know if it's 100% natural or edited, but I don't mind if the result is beautiful, and it actually is. Regards.

It is a beautiful painting,... or photo, ... or graphic, I can not really tell. Part of me like it, and part of me reject it, because of the heavy post-processing. Welcome to TE!

hmmm, I'm not sure what to think of this, without the moon it would have looked real enough to be added to my faves, but the yellow looks sooo artificial. In any case I would like to find out where you took this view (if the rest IS a photograph) I would travel to Brazil and wait 3 hours to get fingerprinted at the airport just to take a picture from this viewpoint. (and maybe I'd add a Saturn)

Great photomanipulate! Hard work! :)))
Sorry Michael, but 29-02-2004 moon wasn't full! Edit Date to 6-03-04... :/

Welcome, Michael. This is a beautiful photograph. I am wondering how much of it is real and how much is PP. A note helps - Great work!!
Looking forward seeing future posts.

Hi Micheal
This is the most beautiful nature landscape I have seen on TE. That half moon behind the clouds and the depth because of the hills is truly beautiful Smashing topwork!!
And have a lot of fun on TE.
Your start is impressive.....

Welcome to TE Michael,
I guess that by posting such a pic you wanted to get our attention and you've really managed to do so! However as others have already remarked this photo would be more appropriate on TL because of all the post-processing.
A short note would also be appreciated to tell us more about this place.
Nonetheless, I look forward to discovering some of your more "natural" work on TE.
Regards, Brigitte
