Still the penitents walking from the "Igreja da Ordem do Terceira do Carmo" up to the "Igreja São Fransisco" passing across the "Pelourinho" area.
They are in front of the latter and they stayed here about 40 minutes for the end of the procession around the cross enlighten in red.
Due to the slave inheritage in Brazil, I found that the ceremony was even more moving and sad. The meaning of that ceremony which conveys a lot of regrets for human sins took an additional dimension compared to what we know in Europe. Remember that several millions of African people were brought to Brazil to work in slavery.
I don't know what Brazilian people think of this today. But like in Angola where I spent almost two years, I discovered a great proudness and kindness at the same time among people to have survived so many difficult situations, some of them being quite recentes.

Você conseguiu capturar precisamente o efeito teatral da cena... Aí está o olho do fotógrafo. Parabéns.

I like your colour tones of the event. Very warm and moody, full of reds that may represent blood and sacrifice...
Very good at ISO 1600!

1.600 ISO Whaoo !
Je ne discerne pas de bruit, les couleurs sont belles, pas facile à immortaliser cette scène au 1/50 s, le flash aurait tout gâché.
La balance des blancs est bien équilibrée.
