Photographer’s Note
View from the bridge over the Perequê-açu river which leads to the historical center of Paraty. Most of hotels of Paraty are located by this river.
Around 1640 the settlement called Paratii was transferred to the location where is today the historical center, between the rivers Paratiguaçu (today called Perequê-Açu) and Patitiba, donated by Maria Jácome de Mello. This benefactor imposed two conditions for the donation: that a new chapel be built in honor of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, and the safety of the gentle Guaianas Indians be preserved. Unfortunately, only the first condition was respected.
In 1660, the flourishing settlement rebels, demanding independence from Angra dos Reis and the status of village for itself. Thus, in 1667 it rose to the condition of Village of Nossa Senhora dos Remedios de Paratii. It is important to mention that Paraty was the first Brazilian city to have political autonomy by popular voting.

Very good composition with excellent sharpness and colors. Great reflection of the calm waters. I really like the inclusion of the tall trees on the left, leading towards the village and beyond. Very nice! Cheers, John.

I like the calmness of this landscape. Lower left part is slightly underexposed but this is a minor remark. Very relaxing mood. Thanks for sharing

Hi Carmem, the dark exposure works very well here to create a wonderful landscape painting with saturated colors. Your composition is very peaceful, al blue and green with a few red highlights to attract the eye. Thanks for posting!

Hi Carmem. You chose a wonderful day to take this shot. I'm a sucker for reflections and this shot is no exception! You have conveyed the feel of a warm tropical place very well. I especially like the colors of the brown dirt on the right bank. Very nice work Carmem!

Incrivel Carmem! Boa nota!
Abraço

super beautiful Carmem,
I like the general dark tones, but it is bright enough to see many details. The color are extremely vivid and well saturated, and the sharpness is tremendous. It is indeed gorgeous!

I love the reflection in the picture. It's truly amazing. The depth of field is also excellent and it's really great how even though there is a line of symmetry, it's not right in the middle, which follows the rule of thirds.

This is such a beatiful shot and place. Lovely colours and excellent sharpness. I very much like the depth of view, as you can follow the river all the way in the distance. Again, superb colours!

Hi Carmem
Great job of composed and executed landscape. Angle job is good, where we could see and feel the tranquility of the fishing village.
But the pic is a little too dark.
Well done.
