Photographer’s Note

The statue of 'Christ the Redeemer' is what many people picture when they think of Rio de Janeiro. Standing 30m tall it sits atop of Corcovado, a 710m hill behind the city.
It is made from reinforced concrete with an outer mosaic layer sculpted from soapstone. Completed in 1931, it is top of the list for most who visit this amazing city.

I took plenty of photos the day I visited. After taking the standard shots I looked for an angle that would give people a different perspective of this amazing piece of architecture.
