Photographer's Note

Installed in the water of Armação beach, the sculpture features three fishermen in action, immortalizing the beautiful gesture of taking seafood that normally we only see on the plate. The Work was made by the artist Christina Motta.

Chirstina is natural from São Paulo state (1944). In 1970 she moved to London to complete here formation in the art of made sculptures, regressing to Brazil 1992 where she lives till today in Buzios city.

The famous sculpture of Brigitte Bardot in Buzios is also a work of Christina.

At first I thought these were real fishermen. Thanks for your note of explanation. Photograpahically speaking, I like the POV. Good composition, but could use deeper DOF to bring the sculpture into sharper focus, especially since it's the subject of the picture.

Hi Andre,
This is very interesting. As has already been said, they appear life like. Photographically speaking, this looks quite balanced to me except for the big ship at the back, I suppose you could not ask it to be moved a little to the right!

nice the snapshot with the statues of fishermen on the forground in action,and the cruise boat on the backdrop to complete the image.The fishermen and the boats create depth and lead-in the eye on the far end of the horizon.

A very realistic sculpture. Before I read your note I thought that was indeed a group of fisherman. Also great contrast in style between the small fishing boats and large cruise ship. Well done for seeing the opportunity in this shot.

only after reading the note I realized they were sculptures, I saw those in Buzios, beautiful even the BG with the sequence of boats, from smallest to largest...nice shot...
