When I was a kid my father raising canaries! At the time the mores and laws were others who looked after the protection of animal, much less stringent. I followed as a teenager, my father traveling kilometers from my hometown (SP Franca) to find some place where he could still exist these "golden bird" in nature. Fortunately, with severe penalties that apply to modern laws which harm the flora and fauna of Brazil, we were able to reverse the situation so that now as an adult's eyes fill with joy at confirming during a simple walk in a park the existence of canaries a few meters away. Today, 80 years with my father repents of times gone by, but is also carried out of the window to hear the song of the canary (free in nature).
By the way, today I decided to walk with my first digital camera, a Fuji FinePix 3.1 MP, but with the 10x zoom. By that I liked the result ...

Good morning Wagner,
I entirely agree with you, and think it's so sad to see birds in cages ! So, I am glad Your countries have brought in those laws, and you can now admire those birds free in Nature.
Unfortunately, in France, budgerigars and canaries are still kept in cages; I don't think they could live in the wild in these latitudes, but the fact that people buy them as pets encourage their capture in the wild from other countries, and that should be prohibited !
I am glad you could take this lovely picture of a happy bird. It looks great in its sunny robe , among the green, lush foliage. Very good management of light.
Thanks for sharing.
