[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Perhaps it's not the most original picture of a Tucano, but I still think this composition brings out the colours of the bird in the best possible way.

This "Tucan Grande" (English name: Toco Toucan) is a common bird in the forest surrounding the Iguazu Falls. It is very difficult to photograph them in freedom, so I have to admit that this picture was taken in a large voliere in a bird's park. This park ("Park des Aves") is located across the street near the heliport, so if you have to wait for your flight for a couple of hours you can always have a look at the birds!

Excellent closeup of this very photogenic bird. Good choice of cropping and great graphism and sharpness. Good thing you admitted that it is not in the wild as we can see in the reflection of the eye that it is in an urban setting. ;-)

Hi Michael, Vivid colors and sharply captured. It shows that its taken from a cage because of the sharp reflection from its eyes. Very beautiful macro shot. good catch.

WoW, Great shot Michael!!!...

The toucan’s beautiful blue eye really "pops"... the bright colors and textures are gorgeous... very well done...

Wonderful colors and sharpness, that make real the texture of the animal, it's really amazing. I love the background we are able to see is his eye, it's really a good picture, thanks for sharing

Excellent details on properly focused parts of the bird's head - where details are amazing.
Lovely saturated colours and good cropping/compo.
Good way of describing Brazil, Michael!

I look forward to see more of your postings, you were close to my place, a pity we did not meet then

very nice cropping as well

K.
I see you at the eye of the bird

Yo Michael, this is cool bird shot! I love the close up framing, though maybe I'd have left a little less space on top and have the eye a little closer to the edge, but whatever this is just fine as it is!

BTW, just for fun I wanted to play with the image a bit, pls check out my WS!

very nice photo Michael, lots of colors, interesting abstract composition, original work

Nice composition!

This is a wonderfull image Michael. No wonder it's getting so much attention. I just love the details around the eyes. Great colors also. Congrats.

Great colours. It could have been a picture of one of the Cobra-painters (Karel Appel, Corneille)

Wow, what clarity and lovely colors. Thanks! This shows excellent composition, it is crystal clear, and your point of view really punches the colors and textures. really nice!

Hi Michael,
I love the colors hear, especially the blue eye. Beautiful. The incredible sharpness shows some nice textures too. This picture has a very graphical quality that is only diminished by the imperfections of the beak in the lower right corner. DOF is good too.

Simon

Hi Michael - This is excellent. Such fine detail. Amazing.

Hi michael.. You lucky, I wish so much one day to go to Foz do Igaçu.. hehehe.. By the way your picture is gorgeus!you did a good job! congrats!

Wonderful colours and nice framing. Impressive shot!

what a fantastic photography! superb colour, the blue eye...very very well done.
regards,

Superbe ce tableau ! C'est une toile presque abstraite qui est rendue par ce très gros plan.

Wow! great close up of this lovely and colorful bird. I like your cropping very much. Well done!

Bonjour Michael,
De superbes couleurs pour ce toucan et une netteté irréprochable. Félicitations. Gérard

Very good. Fantastic colors.

Hey Michael! Great detail-work from you, and fantastic colours in the picture.
Cheers, Bernhard

Beautiful Shot! I was fortunate enough to have seen 3 toucans in the wild when visiting Iguazu Falls. However, they were very high up on the top of the trees and I was not fortunate enough to get a shot like this.
