Photographer’s Note

This is beautiful baroque Igreja de São Francisco (Church of St. Francis) in the historic center of João Pessoa.
João Pessoa is the third eldest city in Brazil, and of course it still keep a huge barroc and colonial heritage such as very old monuments and buildings, and one of its great historical treasure is the Church of Saint Francis of Assis, built in 1592 and finished in 1763.

I like the ornate facade, of the old, baroque church. The yellow ochre colour tones, contrast well, against the blue sky. Good sharpness & framing. Tfs!

uma igreja curiosa essa, além de bonita, parece que faltou verba pra contrução da segunda torre. A iluminação suave e dourada de um final de dia ficou ótima aqui também, mas preferi a versão do WS.

I like in the way you have used the late evening sun to catch the facade at the far end of your photo.
Very ornate with fine details. As the surrounding walls. The few people there is a plus to your photo.

Très bel effet de perspective pour rendre hommage à cette architecture baroque dont l'édification s'est étalée sur plusieurs siècles, vraisemblablement liés à des problèmes politiques.

The light is excellent, seemingly the last light of the day casting golden tones on the church. The perspective of the piazza leads the eye to the church itself.

Olá Leonor,
Uma linda igreja, muito bem fotografada. Gosto do enquadramento e da presença das meninas, um toque humano agradável que não distrai demasiado do tema principal. A luz dourada fica especialmente bem aqui, tanto mais que não me admiraria que haja muitos dourados, tão característicos do barroco português lá dentro. Como diz o Lucas, é algo estranho, mas não caso único, que só tenha um campanário. As arcadas também não me parecem muito comuns neste tipo de igreja. Imagino que com um processamento menos apurado a sombra causaria grandes estragos, mas isso não acontece aqui.
