Photographer’s Note

My father has told me that his father always called him to watch thunderstorms when he was young, saying: "Look how beautiful that lightning bolts are!". Well, my father has told me this memories about my grand-father when he saw me watching thunderstorms through the window, several years ago. I love it! Its so nice to see the nature in the show time! So strong! So beautiful! I think that it is in my DNA... so here is another capture, right in front of my window, this time in Curitiba.

Very powerful shot! It is amazing how the lightening brightens this photo in this way, and I love the clouds in front of the bolt. The dark cityscape below adds depth to the shot and all of the details are perfect.

Esta cruz formada pelas avenidas da cidade está compondo um elemento simbólico... ou então é só minha mania de ver sempre alguma coisa além...

Hi Zeca. We don’t get a lot of lightning storms around here any photos of lightning fascinate me. Even without the lightning this is a strong photo, the crossroads add their own presence to the scene. Well captured and thanks for sharing.

You have captured this light at such perfect timing, absolutely beautiful and the sharpness and clarity of the light couldn't be any better. Wow, what a moment that must be. I love the way the sky is so well lighted up for you to even get the details of the clouds in the surrounding area. the rich blue tone of the sky is perfectly illuminated with nice gradiation. Really great shot, my complements.

Hi, Jose. You're right, this is a really beautiful spectacle and you've captured it very well. I like the way the lit streets mark the foreground of the picture and how the sky stands out against it. The lines drawn by the lightning bolts are superb and give the sky an eerie aspect. I think the picture is perfectly exposed with a very good balance between the light and dark parts.

Simplesmente fantástica. Eu também acho um dos fenômenos mais impressionantes da natureza. Não tive , até agora, coragem de fotografá-los, apesar de vê-los muito da varanda de meu ap. Teresina é chamada Chapada do Corisco porque é a terceira cidade do mundo em incidência de raios.

Incrível e maravilhosa foto. Fiquei realmente impressionado, com os raios e as cores e luzes da cidade , muitos teriam omitido os detalhes da cidade para enfatizar os raios, mais ficou ótima em sua foto. A composição está ótima. Parabéns pela captura e excelente POV.

meu sonho conseguir uma imagem como essa, dias atrás deu uma chuva com relampagos em Belo Horizonte, tentei mas não consegui, mesmo com 15seg. de exposição. A nitidez aqui ficou fantástica. Qual valor de velocidade que você usou? Não consegui ver no EXIF...

Ainda há pouco tempo comentei com mais do que uma pessoa como era difícil conseguir boas fotos de arco-íris, seja pela exposição/cores, seja pela compo. Bom... Imagino que seja canja comparado com relâmpagos! E não é que aqui conseguiu apanhar um enorme com uma exposição impecável e cujo forma se combina estupendamente com as ruas iluminadas? Deve ser mesmo do ADN, quiçá com uma ajuda do São Pedro, do Thor ou outro deus qualquer!

Excellent lightnight bolt, perfectly visbile on the nice blue background. The small cloud near the ground, partly covering the bolt, is a beautifull additional touch. Eccelent timing for the catch.

The timing is simply perfect. It is very difficult to capture flashes of lightning as they tear through the heaven. Exposure, composition, clarity are all perfect here. Superb!
