MINHA DUCENTÉSIMA!
MY 200TH!

This bridge is in the border of the State of SÃO PAULO (The Southeastern Region of Brazil) and the State of MATO GROSSO DO SUL (The Center-Western Region of Brazil) across the PARANÁ RIVER! I was there because my parents live in the last city before the border - CASTILHO - and I often visit them. This bridge was part of my childhood and I used to go there by bike with my friends!

It's called FRANCISCO DE SÁ Bridge and it links the westernmost tip of the State of São Paulo (in the city of CASTILHO) to the city of TRÊS LAGOAS (in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul), over the PARANÁ RIVER. It's 1,200m long! It's still used for trains (not passengers anymore) and the railway that's seen in this picture is called "FERROVIA NOROESTE DO BRASIL" (Brazil's Northwest Railway), hence the bridge is also known as "PONTE NOB" (NOB Bridge).

Although similar, I always found interesting that the vegetation changes as we go across the river!
The fact that the clocks have to be changed after the river too (one hour less) always captivated me, and since I was I child I got interested about those intriguing facts of our PLANET EARTH!

Coming back to that spot to CELEBRATE this 200th post!

Hello Ney,
I like the long, long perspective down the bridge right to the vanishing point. Pleasing tonal contrasts in the foreground and good sharpness throughout.

Strange to see bamboo in South America. This looks more like tropical south east Asia, than Brazil, & reminds me of the bridge on the river Kwai, in Thailand. Good linear perspctive & sharpness. Tfs!

muito legal esta vista, com o tunel de bambus enquadrando a vista para o tunel de metal da ponte. uma foto bem feita e com bom pov e enquadramento, mais valor tem ainda por fazer parte de sua hist. pois é, são estes detalhes de nossa vida de criança que constroem a base para nós, adultos.

Linda essa imagem, com o campo de visão tendendo ao infinito. Quando eu era pequeno, tinha uma série em que as pessoas transitavam no tempo e que o portal que fazia a passagem tinha esse mesmo aspecto visual... Não é do seu tempo.

sempre gostei das pontes de trilhos e achei esta uma foto bastante bonita. As cores são bastante naturais e a linha ficou util pela perspectiva.

Olá Ney,

Parabéns pela 200ª. Estás a recuperar o "tempo perdido" a bom ritmo!

É curioso como quase tudo na foto parca contribuir para o efeito de perspectiva e "túnel". A ponte fica muito bem enquadrada pelos canaviais e também gosto daquele chão coberto de folhas secas.

Só é pena que o céu tivesse ficado tão deslavado, mas é apenas um pormenor de pouca importância que se afigura muito difícil de evitar.

É intrigante os carris serem duplos. Passavam ou passam por ali comboios com eixos de larguras diferentes, é?

Durante a minha infância também achava piada à mudança de hora, pois vivia a apenas a alguns Kms de Espanha, onde é mais 1 hora.

I imagine an intrepid pedestrian, who took a shortcut to cross the river, running in front of a train on that bridge!!
Most impressive is the natural framing of that funneled perspective leading attention to...infinity!
