Photographer’s Note

This is an old tradition in the brazilian cities - the guy playing the realejo. That box on top of which is the parrot produces a very peculiar sound, and when you give him some money he will play the music and the parrot will take one of the hundreds of pieces of paper he has in a box and give it to you - your fortune will be written in this piece of paper.

Um dia, quando criança, morando no interior, um bichinho desses me entregou um papel dizendo que eu seria muito feliz mas jamais me casaria. Sobre a felicidade ele acertou, mas quanto ao casamento errou feio. O realejo foi um sucesso e o tiozinho ganhava dinheiro fácil, fácil. Linda recordação de minha infância. Uma foto que deixa saudades. Parabéns!
