Series on my visit to the town of SÃO BENTO DO SAPUCAÍ, located pretty close to the border between the STATES of SÃO PAULO - SP (where it is) and MINAS GERAIS - MG, on June 7th and 8th, 2014 - #018 !
HOMENS & PEDRAS ! ALGUÉM CHEGA AO TOPO DA PEDRA DO BAUZINHO ! ATRÁS, A PEDRA DO BAÚ RESTA INCONQUISTADA! PORÉM, NÃO É DIFÍCIL, HÁ UM CAMINHO PELO QUAL TODOS PODEM ATINGIR O SEU CUME! NESTA OUTRA FOTO, PODIA-SE VER QUE HAVIA OUTRA PESSOA ESCALANDO A ROCHA ÍNGREME POR SEU LADO MAIS DIFÍCIL! O HOMEM NO BAUZINHO, ESPANTADO, FOTOGRAFAVA-O!
MEN & ROCKS ! SOMEONE REACHES THE TOP OF THE LITTLE CHEST ROCK ! IN FRONT OF HIM, THE CHEST ROCK REMAINS UNCONQUERED ! HOWEVER, IT'S NOT A DIFFICULT TASK BECAUSE THERE'S AN EASY WAY ALONG WHICH EVERYBODY CAN SUCCEED ! IN THIS PICTURE, ONE COULD SEE THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER MAN THAT WAS CLIMBING THE STEEP CLIFF BY ITS MORE DIFFICULT SIDE! THE GUY ON THE LITTLE CHEST ROCK, ASTONISHED, WAS PHOTOGRAPHING HIM !
THE CHEST ROCK (PEDRA DO BAÚ) IS 1,950 masl and has cliffs that are 400 meters high ! On its left side, there's THE LITTLE CHEST ROCK (PEDRA DO BAUZINHOS) and on its right, THE FLAT ANN ROCK (PEDRA DA ANA CHATA). Here, the three of them can be seen from the little town, in which municipality they're located.
This year, for my birthday, I decided I'd do what I mostly enjoy doing: traveling! As I didn't have too much time (only a week-end), I went to a town that's not very far away from where I live: SÃO BENTO DO SAPUCAÍ!
It's located in the border of the STATES of SÃO PAULO (SP) - where it is - and MINAS GERAIS (MG), in a wonderful mountaineous regions, called SERRA DA MANTIQUEIRA (MANTIQUEIRA MOUNTAIN RANGE)!
It's a small town, still pretty calm, clean and lovely!
I spent some time without visiting Trek Earth because I was free of work and school and took some time to travel around Norway (mostly) and visit the wonderful cities of STOCKHOLM and COPENHAGEN!
Today my law course started again (my 7th quarter, out of ten) and I'll probably be less active here, specially during the days I'll have exams!

A splendid close-up on this fascinating rocky outcrop. The intrepid climber makes an excellent focal point and provides a fine sense of scale. A perfectly exposed image with very good light, colours and clarity.

Have a great weekend - B.

Nice view on the rocky "finger" with extra interest added by the small man there, giving scale and sense of dimension.
Sharp details, good colours.

Adding the person to the picture was of course a great idea, as it adds a sense of scale to the photo. Beautiful view of those impressive rock formations. Good composition too.

très impressionnant ce piton rocheux qui se dresse ainsi et superbe photo avec cette minuscule présence humaine bien visible, le contraste de taille donne un effet encore plus imposant au rocher.

nice view of this impressive rock. A good comparison in size between a man and a huge rock. Wonderful natural colours, perfect exposure, fine composition and sharpness.
