Last Monday, once more, I took my camera with me to work and when going back home, again, I took some more pictures of downtown Campinas.

A manor house that has been transformed into many things throughout the years (including stores, gambling house etc.) and that has already undergone a terrible fire that almost detroyed it all.

These summer days have been rainy and cloudy. I like it though, because we're having lower temperatures!

Unfortunately, downtown Campinas is getting uglier and uglier because of visual pollution, decaying buildings etc., as a result, for example, of bad administrations, among other reasons!

CAMPINAS is a big city, 96km northwest of the city of SÃO PAULO and part of one of the largest metropolitan areas in the state of São Paulo and in Brazil. It had 1,088,611 estimated inhabitants in 2011, being the third most populated city in the State of São Paulo and the fourteenth most populated city in Brazil.

Allô Neyvan!
C'est bien d'avoir sa caméra avec soi au cas où l'occasion se présenterait pour une belle photo. Moi j'ai toujours ma vieille Nikon que je laisse dans mon auto au cas où. Belle photo de ville et joli édifice habillé de blanc et bleu. Le soleil se faisait timide mais les couleurs sont bien rendues.

Casa de esquina bonito nas cores azul escuro e branco. No fundo um pouco mais desgastado casas, mas não muito agradável. Excelente fotografia de rua. Excelente qualidade de imagem.

Bonjour Neyvan,

La combinaison de différents éléments qui se complètent bien visuellement. Les diagonales de la scène dynamise la photo. Contre jour pas évident mais tu t’en sors plutôt bien.
« Le supplément d’âme ne réside pas tant dans la ville elle-même que dans la façon de l’approcher. »

a great POV this with fascinating angles and lines that make this wonderful blue and white manor house stand out so conspicously. A beautiful building that looks totally out of place in this urban and busy setting. A real shot of contrasts.

What a fantastically composed image. I lobe the blues and the whotes and the lines and patterns of that are echoed in the lines of the road markings to emphasise the shape and lines even more. Well observed.

For a moment I thought this was in Portugal, a typical painted blue/white house - and I was looking for the "Azulejos" ...
I like how you taken this pic. as it appear on real everyday's, with all the electricity lines criss-cross the intersection - it doe's bring a vibrant ambiance to the whole.

Hello Ney - a nice street scene with good lines and deep rich blues on the building! The cables at top mimic the pedestrian crossings well, giving the shot a kind of symmetry, and the human elements here are sparse but useful. A most interesting note as well on the changes in Campinas. Thanks!

Never leave home without your camera, you never know what you are going to find, even in your own well known neighburhood.
Great deep blue colors that contrast nicely with the whitewash on this mundane building that is in itself in a stark contrast to the surounding architecture.

again, i am really enjoying your series of inner city streets in your hometown.
I don't know its if intentional, but its cool that you also have the man in the blue jeans at the top right corner, kind of matching the blue theme of the building :)

This image stands out in the thumbnails. Your composition gives a vivid and beautiful effect to this strteet scene. The white zebra lines create strong diagonal dynamic and this immediately caught our attention and blue is there as strong contrasting colors along with the slight blurry effect finishes off superbly. A very successful shot well rendered, Congrats

je choisis cette photo, car je viens de lire un livre et il s'agissait d'un peintre qui adorait les carrefours; et là je comprends avec les 4 passages cloutés et cette batisse bleue qui égaie le reste de l'avenue

The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The point of view is showing a double perspective of the architecture of the building. There is a good contrast between the colors of the building. Have a nice day.

This building seem to be holding O.K despite the passing of time and the fire, it has its own personality with those two strong colours. The other bigger buildings in the background are more indifferent.
Sharp image and well exposed.
