PALÁCIO DA JUSTIÇA (ESTADUAL) - CENTRO DA CIDADE DE CAMPINAS - FEIÚRA URBANA!

STATE COURT HOUSE - DOWNTOWN CAMPINAS - URBAN UGLINESS!

Last Monday, once more, I took my camera with me to work and when going back home, again, I took some more pictures of downtown Campinas.

Located in the LARGO DO ROSÁRIO/ROSÁRIO SQUARE, this is the façade of the (SÃO PAULO) STATE COURTHOUSE in CAMPINAS. In Brazil we have two different levels of JUSTICE (FEDERAL AND STATE). Some important cities like Campinas holds both Federal and State Justice in many levels (civil, criminal, labor). This used to be the main building for STATE JUSTICE in Campinas, but now there's a larger one located in the outskirts of the city called "CIDADE JUDICIÁRIA"/"JUDICIARY CITY".

These summer days have been rainy and cloudy. I like it though, because we're having lower temperatures!

Unfortunately, downtown Campinas is getting uglier and uglier because of visual pollution, decaying buildings etc., as a result, for example, of bad administrations, among other reasons!

CAMPINAS is a big city, 96km northwest of the city of SÃO PAULO and part of one of the largest metropolitan areas in the state of São Paulo and in Brazil. It had 1,088,611 estimated inhabitants in 2011, being the third most populated city in the State of São Paulo and the fourteenth most populated city in Brazil.

nice shot of the Court House, your POV gives us a great idea of its setting and placement within your home town. At least there are trees and shrubs around which look well kept and watered.

The building makes an interesting backcloth, but it's the people caught momentarily in their individual daily routines that make the shot for me. Very good technical presentation as ever.
