INTERSECTION OF BARÃO DE JAGUARA AND CONCEIÇÃO STREETS - DOWNTOWN CAMPINAS - URBAN UGLINESS!

After a break because of all the end of the year's celebrations, first day back to work! I decided to take my camera with me, because the sun is going away later (as we are in summertime) and I could take some pictures while going back home! And so I did.

Unfortunately, downtown Campinas is getting uglier and uglier because of visual pollution, decaying buildings etc., as a result, for example, of bad administrations, among other reasons!

CAMPINAS is a big city, 96km northwest of the city of SÃO PAULO and part of one of the largest metropolitan areas in the state of São Paulo and in Brazil. It had 1,088,611 estimated inhabitants in 2011, being the third most populated city in the State of São Paulo and the fourteenth most populated city in Brazil.

another insight image, that does however have a real sense of character about it. Certainly a lot to look at here and a perfectly executed urban image.

This street scene is all about contrasting colours, with the most simple mundane daily props, but those specks of influential stunning colors hold the focus in. Excellent observation of everyday scene. Well done.

What a dynamic, colourful and exciting photo. I like the blue tones especially and the effect of the stripes on the pedestrian crossing. The architecture is exquisite, and has a very colonial feel to it. Great work, thanks for sharing.

Hello Neyvan,
I like very much the strong perspectives and the depth of this picture. The feeling that we have briefly stopped at a traffic light and are about to continue our way down the street is quite vivid. You have included in the frame a lot of details that characterize this part of the city. The early evening light, the colours and the signs are the elements that I enjoy the most. You have used the cables superbly to complete the composition, add perspective and cover the colourless sky. Congratulations and thank you!
