Photographer's Note

The Carioca Aqueduct (Portuguese: Aqueduto da Carioca) is an aqueduct in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The aqueduct was built in the middle of the 18th century to bring fresh water from the Carioca river to the population of the city. It is an impressive example of colonial architecture and engineering.
The Carioca Aqueduct is located in the centre of the city, in the Lapa neighbourhood, and is frequently called Arcos da Lapa (Lapa Arches) by Brazilian people. Since the end of the 19th century the aqueduct serves as a bridge for a popular tram that connects the city centre with the Santa Teresa neighbourhood uphill, the Santa Teresa Tramway.

J'aime beaucoup la diagonale que forme cette structure dans l'image. La blancheur est éblouissante et jouit d'un ciel polarisé parfait pour la mettre en valeur.

I saw first this bridge in a "CSI:Miami" episode,with the tram passing on it,and I did not believe it was real...thought it was a set for the serial!

Bonjour Andre,
une polarisation parfaite qui donne des bleus ahurissants et pourtant des blancs bien propres et parfaitement balancés. Un angle de prise de vue nickel, une mise eu point et une exposition tellement bien réglées.

A fantastic colour combination of dark blue & white with incredible repetition of the arches. Looks like an old Roman aquaduct or 2! The man at right adds scale. Impeccable sharpness & good contrast with no oe of note. Tfs!

A fantastic shot of this aqueduct in diagonal form. The dark blue sky contrasts against the white structure. The sharpness and lighting are superb. Nice inclusion of the man walking giving it a life.

en esta buena composición has jugado perfectamente con la perspectiva diagonal del acueducto, y con el contraste entre su blanca arquitectura y el azul de un cielo muy bien polarizado.
Mediante estos elementos has creado una foto dividida en dos partes muy bien diferenciadas, en una composición muy elegante y atractiva, con una luz y unas sombras muy bien gestionadas.

The whites has setted your sensor for giving a darker sky.
It's very interesting.
I suggest you to try using ShiftN software to correct a little bit the vertical perspective.

Stunning effect from the bright white finish of the aquaduct on that blue sky, and a great angle of it too to show how immesnse this structure is! Rio ius not the city that would spring to mind when I think of aquaducts, so this is a doubly interesting post for me!
