Arraial do Cabo is a city in the state of Rio de Janeiro. It is a coastal town founded in 1503 by the Americo Vespucio. The municipality was created in 1985, after the emancipation from the city of Cabo Frio.
In 2010 the population was only 28,010 inhabitants according to the IBGE. The highways that serve the city are the RJ-140 and RJ-102.
The city of Arraial do Cabo is a large piece of land entering the sea that has cove beaches. Some of the beaches being the most beautiful in the world.
The city is ideal for diving, ecotourism is the basis of the economy.
Still having a fairly simple and troubled urban area with buildings of just two floors in narrow winding streets plus a notorious slums unusual process between neighboring cities. Here we can see a panoramic view of the city from the Our lady of Remédios church till Grande Beach in the background.
