Photographer's Note

My friends in Rio told me to wake up and be ready at 04:00 in the morning because we were going to Dona Marta. Of course I didn't ask any further questions, they all live in Rio and they know the best places to take a picture.
We left Rio at 04:00 sharp, it is winter time here and at this hour it is night still...
Dona Marta is located in the Floresta da Tijuca which is a spectacular National Park here in Rio with an extraordinary variety of flora and fauna. I was not able to enjoy the views of the Park on the way up to Dona Marta because it was all dark but when we were returning, I saw the most beautiful and big size blue butterflies, some macacos and a variety of colorful birds along with the most beautiful bromelias!!!
Arriving at Dona Marta it was just me and my four photographer friends who were ready with their tripods and sophisticated lenses to take their amazing pictures...
And this is the view of Rio de Janeiro from Dona Marta. You can see just about everything from here, the beaches, the Bay, the Christ the Redeemer and most part of the city between Ipanema and Copacabana.
This is at sunrise time and I was amazed by this breathtaking view!!!
We were all silent and enjoying the changing of colors, unfortunately this early in the morning it is very cloudy and hazy and it is very hard to have a very clear shot..but you can get the idea.enjoy!!
the picture is dedicated to Ricardomattos
