This monument belonged to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts which was located in the Rio de Janeiro city Centre. The Royal Academy was opened in 1821 and demolished in 1937, preserving only the facade of the central body, which, after disassembled, was carefully reconstructed in the Botanical Garden in 1940.
The Gate was designed by French architect Grandjean de Montigny, who in 1816 had come to Brazil following the French Artistic Mission.

nice the view of the place with the narrow road to lead-in the eye on the gate of the Royal Academy.I like the created perspective as the light management of the scene.

Beautiful composition. Nice play of lights and shadows. Symmetry of the composition is really adorable.

I wouldn't mind attending school like that :-) The location is amazing and the whole picture has wonderful depth thanks to the alley of the trees and very well handled light. Classic composition and pretty warm colors.

good depth and symmetry in this shot, it is also nice sunlight and shadows. Perhaps human presence should have been good in this scene? I like the note and i will probably visit Rio in Februar, Tfs!
Have a nice evening.

Parece um local bem bonito! Gosto da fachada ao fundo e a luz e cores estão muito boas!
