Here another photo of Botanical Garden showing the main street and the Imperial Palms (Roystonea oleracea (Palmae)).
The first one (named Palma Mater) was brought to Brazil during the colonial era (1809) by King D. João VI.
The Imperial palms can reach 40 meters. The Palma Mater in 1972 was killed by a ray during a storm and it 39 meter stem was placed in the Botanical Museum. A new one was seeded in the place and was called Palma Filia.
In the workshop another photo from the same place but using another white balance config.

It looks an attractive promenade. you have captured it with a nice composition that three ladies are expertly put to show the height of palm trees. it might be better to add morning warm color to this image like your workshop.
Best wishes, Hisashi

This is a nicely composed shot! The vertical format emphasizes the height of the trees and the depth of the scene. The women walking add interest to the shot as well as a sense of scale. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has fine sharpness.

Belo trabalho, amigo.
Parabéns e Abraço,

Profundidade nota 10.Linda foto das palmeiras imperiais formando um corredor (cartão postal) do Jardim Botânico.

This is an amazing shot. The vertical frame works very very well. Apart from that, the size of people gives the scale of the trees. Great DOF as well.
boa (6021) 2011-01-10 13:18
wow, amazing palms! They form a perfect perspective for your fine shot. I like the light and shadows, human presence is also good for a shot like this. Fine vertical and symmetric composition with good sharpness, Tfs
Have a nice evening.

this is an impressive place, this palm path is amazing, good perspective and composition,
Urs (14082) 2011-02-03 20:21
Wow that's an alley with very tall palm tees, interestingly they all seem to be straight, while we have here often not so straight one. Congrats that is a master shot, in particular as you have included the three persons walking producing an excellent DOF. Well done.

Have a nice day.
batalay (35595) 2011-02-20 6:17
This is a magnificent shot, of a magnificent place. I had never heard of the Imperial Palms, palm trees that could grow to 40 m (or 120 feet, 12-13 times the height of a person). Absolutely astonishing! You have complemented the photo with an informative note.
Ricx (13495) 2011-03-05 0:57
Hi Andre, This is a stunning vertical also to me most unusual as the trees give vertical depth because of their height, but also tremendous depth in the image with the avenue-- a lovely image which I am sure you are very proud of. have a great weekend Rich
vanver (235) 2011-03-11 10:24
Impressive foto. The alley reminds me of architecture and narrow gorge at the same time. The three girls enable me to realize how gigantic the palms are. This is one of my favourites photos. Best wishes, Peter.
fabianoleite (9551) 2011-05-17 16:12
Excelente perspectiva, bem vertical, mostrando a magnificência das altas palmeiras - as mulheres andando ajudam a dar essa dimensão. Muito bom trabalho, parabéns!
scroller (3407) 2011-05-23 0:08
A great perspective and one can say that man is small and nature is huge. A tips; if you chose a lower pov you makes the effect of the perspective even stronger!
Enjoy your day!
lakshmip1949 (19081) 2011-08-02 4:00
What a beautiful shot of this garden with big palm trees on both sides creating nice shade for the walkers. The place is kept very clean and scenic.
blagov58 (287) 2011-08-05 18:28
This one looks like an organ - and light asymmetry creates dynamics in the picture. Like ti a lot.
i9l2y1m8a8t3 (4798) 2012-03-23 11:52
I really love the strong sense of balance and symmetry. The vertical format really helped a lot in creating a really tall effect on this image. Love how straight are those tall trees! The inclusion of the people walking gives us a nice sense of scale too. Great post!
all the best,
Noel_Byrne (24269) 2013-04-23 2:48
You have done a fantastic job here of capturing the essence of the height of these beautiful trees, and the three girls in the photo help this immensely. I love how they look as if they are walking off into the unknown as well.
I was a little sad to hear that the original tree had died (how we get connected to things through pictures!!) but I suppose thats part of the cycle. in the botanic gardens in Dublin, a huge old oak tree died, but they used it for an artist to carve a big face, so now it remains in place as a work of art!
Thanks for sharing a fascinating picture and note.

Composition with beautiful trees!
gervaso (10711) 2013-09-20 9:08
Belo trabalho!
Valensiaa (244) 2013-10-28 8:46
Stuning view, great composition.
I love thouse three girls in middle - letting us to feel true size of these majestic palms. Beautiful colors and some very refreshing details as palm leaves tending from the sides.
Thank you for sharing it.
maloutim (9637) 2014-01-15 1:35
Impressive POV of this alley lined with palm trees, which look as sumptuous as cathedral columns ! Excellent perspective and DOF.
I expect it wasn't so easy to capture this photo because of the height of the trees ?
Is that the Palma Filia we can see second on the right ?
Thanks for sharing and have a good day !

Hello Andre. A beautiful tall palm-trees. I like the inclusion of the runners in the overall composition. I also love to visit the botanical gardens. You see there is so much that you can not see otherwise.
Best rgds, Wolfgang.
