Known by locals and tourists as Coca-Cola Lagoon, the Lagoon Iriri has this nickname due to the color of its waters, which are dark by having large amounts of iodine.
Despite the color of water, is very favorable to the bath, getting many tourists during the season. It's a great place for families with children, who are here to play and swim carefree, caring only the depth of the pond. With a small paved shore, has kiosks with tables, serving snacks. It is also possible to park near the site, which favors access.
From lagoon we can see the beach of Iriri, which gives you the option to be in the lagoon or sometimes on the beach.
The first time I visit the lagoon was in 1988, when all this was only sand and green, without houses or cars access so close to the lagoon. With the growing of Rio das Ostras city the enviroment changed a lot.

First the title made me a stop cause I am addicted to coke. Not a good think I know. But this lagoon on the other hand is great. Looks like a great place for a dip

This is an interesting place, with an interesting name! It doesn't look as dark as Cocoa-Cola, (thank goodness!), but we can clearly see the difference between the lagoon water and the water behind it. It looks like a peaceful place to spend some time.
