Itaipava Castle, which was built in 1920 by Baron J. Smith de Vasconcellos, is famous for being a reproduction of the Renaissance castle, designed by architect Lucio Costa and Fernando Valentim, making it the only castle in medieval style with a touch of classic Norman Americas.
The construction was carried out by twenty families immigrated from Europe that used strictly European materials from Portugal came the stone blocks that were carved by Portuguese craftsmen, of France, the slate roof, Italy, marble from Carrara, which makes up the floor several lounges, including the famous Zodiac room. Doors and windows are made from solid rosewood with English, Austrians and the windows are closing the main details, each port of the rooms of their children had their names engraved in gold.
Construction lasted around five years. There are 42 rooms divided into 19 rooms, halls, libraries, music room, halls, towers, several terraces, guest facilities, servants' quarters and galleries that are home to interesting stories. The hall with a staircase and rosewood ceiling is finely executed. There is stained glass with family crest, a library with shelves carved in relief and a large park surrounding the mansion.
Personalities such as Adhemar de Barros, Getulio Vargas, Amaral Peixoto and several other people of high society in Rio and Sao Paulo attended the site. Incidentally, the Baron, in the first half of last century, commissioned a Limousine Rolls Royce factory with 11 seats, where he spent accommodate their 7 children, Baroness Anna Thereza, the nanny and driver.
This very special car also had at their doors embossed in gold, the coat of arms of the family.

It is a well-chosen framing, in a slight low-angle shot that works very well graphically, and gives a nice perspective to the elegant architecture of this castle. The light has a beautiful effect on the elements, and the vivid colors are magnificent. Well done.
