Photographer's Note

The beautiful beach of Parnaioca is one of the most isolated beaches throughout the Ilha Grande, State of Rio de Janeiro (Big Island). Facing the Atlantic with its yellowish and thick sand has violent sea is deep, with little shadow in its 1000 m long. On the west end, flows the river Parnaioca is a charm, forming a small lagoon beach. In the heyday of Parnaioca, its river was once much more massive, to the point that it was impossible to cross it in times of heavy rains.

There is no lighting grid in Parnaioca. In campsites energy is provided by electric generator. The cell signal is very weak and often non-existent. A place to be "unplugged" fully interacting with nature, without the distractions of modernity.
