Photographer's Note
NARCISSUS GARDEN INHOTIM” (2009), OF YAYOI KUSAMA, IS ONE OF the PERMANENT INSTALLATIONS IN INHOTIM Yayoi Kusama
In this version, in Inhotim, 500 stainless steel spheres float on the mirror of water creating forms that dissolve or the wind and other external factors are condensed in accordance with. Evoking the myth of Narcissus, that it is enchanted for the proper projected image in the surface of the water, the work constructs a huge mirror, composition for hundreds of convex mirrors, that they distort, breaks up e, over all, multiplies the image of that that they contemplate it. In its reverse speed-reading of the myth, Kusama to destroy insofar as provides an experience of dispersion of the image, that is refracted ad infinitum there, on the contrary of the illusion of unit and completude lived deeply for Narcissus
