Photographer's Note

Santa Teresa was the first town founded by Italians in Brazil, in 1875, and it preserves the Italian culture, especially in the architecture and in the cuisine. It lies on the mountains and is quite cold. We can see the coffee plantations on the top of the mounts and their inhabitants, of Italian origin, invented the jabuticaba wine, which is delicious. The hospitality of its people is another highlight. I dedicate this picture to Uncle Dedé, who in our pleasant and unforgettable talks convinced me to visit this nice town.
