Photographer’s Note
A more synthetic and symbolic approach in my excursion to Rio Novo. I don't mean to impart any particular message that would go beyond the medium I'm using: there is a trade-off, sure, between our necessary transformation of the environment and the natural cycles of the environment. That is, and here is where the medium stops its descriptive content, men (and society) are such that, in order to survive, they need to develop their cultural means of transformation. They just won't conform to any ecological utopia that puts man into a condition of a simple animal. Doing so is just the tentative extension of the premises and analogies of a very limited field of human knowledge trying to rule the whole of natural, human and transcendental domains that encircle us. Also, the natural cycles didn't start with us and won't stop where we want, although we might marginally disrupt some of them. The solar cycle will continue to perform its 11yrs, 40yrs, hundreds of years turns and will continue to change the dynamics of climate on Earth and in the solar system, for instance. On the other hand, we might extinguish whales or sharks in our appetite for tonic cartilages.
Nonetheless, there's so much a scientific hypothesis, against many others, can perform in explaining the functioning of the universe. It sure can't tell us why, where from, where to, not without becoming ideology and betraying its very validating principles. That's up to our choices...
Going back to the picture, I just like the way the four focal points play a geometrical game: pasture, Mata Atlântica (the forest domain of the Southeast of Brazil), communication towers, low clouds.
There is another composition as a workshop.

Hello Victor,
Interesting shot with a well chosen title, which was the first thing that attracted my attention, expecting it to be a shot with a message (which it isn't).
Looking at the picture itself, I like the role that the fence (and the slightly brighter green just behind it) plays in the composition. Thanks for sharing it here.

A luz não me agrada. A composição merecia luz melhor.
Zeca
