Photographer’s Note

Canela and Gramado are twin towns, while the first has a more sophisticated mood, Canela is more simple and has its beauty in natural attractions. Anyway its cathedral is very beautiful. It was build in English neo-gothic style, its tower has 65 metres high. Here we can see the main gate, in ogival shape, we can see a mosaic showing Mary sending blessings to mankind. The church was build in basaltic stone. Unfortunately the weather was very bad and a storm was arriving in the area and the light was bad, then the photos I did were very bad too. In the WORKSHOP you can see the façade, it was the best image I got and you can have an idea how beautiful this cathedral is.

Gramado e Canela são cidades gêmeas, enquanto a primeira tem um ar mais sofisticado, a segunda tem a sua força nas atrações naturais. No entanto, sua catedral é mesmo bonita, erguida em pedra de basalto, com uma torre de 65 metros de altura, tendo sido feita em estilo neo-gótico inglês. O portal de entrada tem formato ogival e apresenta um mosaico com a imagem de Maria enviando bênçãos por sobre a humanidade. Infelizmente uma tempestade estava se encaminhando para a região e o céu estava muito escuro, o resultado foi que a maior parte das fotos feitas aqui ficaram péssimas. Ainda assim fiz um WORKSHOP mostrando a fachada para que vocês possam ter uma idéia da grandiosidade e beleza desta catedral.

Un grand merci pour cette "papagolfade" fort bien présentée.
J'apprécie comme il se doit cette architecture particulière et cette fresque inscrite dans la voussure.
Une bien jolie composition.

I think maybe the duller weather worked well for this photo, I really do not see so much wrong here. Great details in the stonework,and design. Colour is good also.

I am impressed with this symmetry of capture to show very nice view of the church doorway and the framing of the artwork feature, as if the symbol of 1 set of praying folded hands. Very well composed to give a great feeling of the entrance facade.

É realmente uma fachada muito bonita e original, com as pedras desse basalto (estranhamente para mim) castanho a lembrarem tijolos e um mosaico colorido por cima da porta. Não sei porquê, nuca imaginaria que a catedral fosse tão grande se não fosse o WS.

Jorge, que fachada bonida dessa igreja, ela deve ser impressionante por dentro. Assim que eu tiver um dimdim sobrando vou conhecer RS o único estado do Sul que não visitei.
