After visiting that chapel, the group of walkers came down and went walking in another direction, crossing farms; in some points we crossed little pieces of the original forest. In one of theses remaining of Atlantic forest I found this native plant, very known around the world. It is called Primavera(Spring)in my region and its science name is bougainvillea glabra.
Between 1766 to 1769 Louis-Antoine de Bougainville was travelling in a scientific trip around the world and arrived in Rio de Janeiro, when he went to the highlands around the city he found this plant and other one and sent them to Europe. Nowadays there are many other colors and hybrids but the original plant is this one you can see here. Inside its natural environment this creeper use a native tree like a base and goes up, when it is in a higher position it put off its better leaves and flowers and stay in a sunny area, above the forest. It can go up around 15 meters of high.

Depois de ter visitado aquela pequena capela, descemos pelo mesmo caminho e depois tomamos um rumo diferente, seguindo por entre pequenas propriedades rurais e cruzando de vez em quando alguns fragmentos de floresta. Em um destes fragmentos da floresta Atlântica me deparei com esta planta nativa, muito conhecida mundo afora. Na minha região ela é chamada de primavera, mas seu nome científico é bougainvillea glabra.
Entre 1766 e 1769 Louis-Antoine de Bougainville estava fazendo parte de uma expedição científica de volta ao mundo, chegando ao Rio de Janeiro ele se encaminhou para a região serrana, onde conheceu esta planta nativa da Mata Atlântica e levou esta variedade e outra para a Europa. Atualmente esta planta possui muitos híbridos e variedades de formas e cores, mas a planta original é esta aqui. Dentro de seu ambiente natural esta trepadeira nativa procura uma árvore a qual se apoiar, depois disto vai subindo por ela e ao alcançar o topo da floresta ela solta suas melhores folhas e flores, pode alcançar até 15 metros de altura.
