Photographer’s Note
Suddenly the guy came from the bush, with the sun at his back. There was some "spanish moss" and the effects of the sun on it is always nice, adding some interest to the scenery.
Many years ago, there was plenty of "spanish moss" in the bushes of all American Continent. It was widely used to protect fruits for transportation and also to fill mattress, sofas and car seats, so it is the reason for its desappearance today, and it became rare.
The "spanish moss" is not a parasite, since it just use the trees to stay suspended, hanging on its branches, because it needs just water and nutrients from the air. It doesn´t have roots! It grows up from a little seed that came with the wind or any bird's help.
In Brazil, we call it "barba de velho" that means "oldman´s beard". Some people calls it aldo "goat's beard". I have another photo showing the "spanish moss" here:Rio Iguaçu II

Zeca

Hi Zeca,
So you planned on shooting the spanish moss and this man came out of nowhere? :-) He really made your photo really nice and interesting. I like the way his shadow was cast. Another good capture... thanks for sharing.
And your note is very informative too.
Cheers!

Oi Zeca,
Abracos,
Flavia

This is wonderful.Lovely shot.Inspite of the very high brightness u have managed it perfectly.Lovely idea to hide the face of the man with tree leaves. This really has made this shot more interesting.

Oi, Zeca! Miguel.

Hello Zeca
The contre-jour shot certainly has had a great effect in lighting up the Spanish moss. you've managed the light so well in this one. Just a little pity that the man wasn't walking one step to his left to reveal him fully.
Best wishes
Mark

Hi Zeca!
A good compo with the suninfront of you... well controlled light and exposure, good colors, nicely composed with the manwell placedoff center, letting us see the light hitting the moss... a good note explaining its rarefaction...

Hi Jose,
An excellent composition with a very informative note. I don't recall having seen this type of moss here in India. I love the way you have managed the light with elongated shadow and the moss glowing in its strong backlight. Well done!

Hola Zeca!

Nivaldo
