Photographer’s Note

Balsa Nova was founded in 1961, but its development begin in 1700, with the gold extraction.
Later, the place was used by the cattle drivers to cross over the Iguaçú River, because there was a precarious float. This float one day gone with any flood, so they made a new float. So, the origin of the name "Balsa = Float Nova = New".
The total area of Balsa Nova is 396,91km2, and there are 10.153 inhabitants, 3.186 of them living in the little town you see here and 6.967 lives in the rural region, which includes also Tamanduá.
Balsa Nova is part in the first plateau and part in the second plateau, in the Campos Gerais region.

Hi Jose,
A simple though effective composition taken in nice warm light. The foreground is interesting, but also the sky with clouds, so cutting it right through the middle was probably the only option....and there is nothing wrong with that.

Zeca,
explorando as proximidades de Tamandua? Belo POV la no alto e olhando para baixo. O momento foi bastante oportuno com uma luz fantasticamente dourada e jogando sombras longas na paisagem. As nuvens (po cara, ve se me da uma destas nuvens para mim aqui na California) estao excelente e complementam a vista perfeitamente.

Apesar de não achar que seja uma de suas melhores, é uma foto agradável de se ver, mostrando um sol de fim de tarde batendo na vegetação e o céu, com nuvens escuras que predizem uma possível chuva à noite!
A nota está bem informativa também!

A cidade toda cabe na foto... Eita interior...
Como já mencionado, é uma foto “normal”, descritiva, mas consistente, fazendo bom uso do melhor recurso do fotógrafo, a luz ambiente. O céu ajudou muito a enriquecer a paisagem da cidadezinha, conferindo maior riqueza de texturas e tons em azul, complementar dos tons alaranjados da copa das árvores. Aqui ficaria legal um galho de árvore ou coisa parecida para dar maior profundidade e interesse, mas, pelo seu enquadramento, vejo que isso não era possível.

não vejo problema algum com esse pov. Está simples e mostra uma vista ampla de Balsa Nova como acho que deveria. Às vezes não há como incrementar muito. Sua foto cumpre o papel efetivamente. Você deve ter pensado: ó cenário é bonito, o céu igualmente...por que não repartir meio a meio essa beleza? Teria feito o mesmo, eu penso. Gostei!

Hi Jose, with the shot taken in the late afternoon sun like this it has a very warm feel to it. I love the look of all those Palms. The sky is good too with some of that warm sun reflected off the clouds.

You have broken many optical rules and I am glad you did so because the composition is very pleasant, the colors and contrast is adequate and the sky very nice.
