Photographer’s Note

This shot was taken near Balsa Nova town. You never heard about it and problably will never visit it. The small river is call Rio dos Papagaios. The region is used mainly for agriculture and cattle.
You can see some rock formation which is one signal that you are not far from Vila Velha.

Amazing vivid green landscape. The shapes of the land are charming and the the trees here and there make a good diversity. The sky is not blue but the texture of the clouds and the variation of the grey colour make a great sky.

apesar das nuvens meio escuras, você conseguiu uma iluminação invejável.
O riacho é pequeno e, por isso, deixa a foto ainda mais atraente. Gostei da casinha branca lá no fundo.
A região é um espetáculo da natureza.

relamente nunca ouvi falar, mas visitar eu não digo, quem sabe um dia né, tudo é possível! Gostei da foto, as cores ficaram boas, mesmo com o tempo fechado! Esse tempo assim me desanima de fotografar, só tirei uma foto em 2008 até agora, daqui a pouco eu posto ela aqui, só chove...

Under a clear sky this would not have been as interesting, the clouds combined with the rich green countryside is quite appealing. You're correct, I've never heard of it, but don't be sure that I'll never visit it!

I love the beautiful light on the vibrant greens under the dark storm .. I love the combination of detail and vastness .. Love the little stream .. I wish there was some closer or bigger object in the bottom right .. still .. really wonderful image.

very lovely landscape with the mixture of meadows and trees, wonderful added with that sky. I like to follow the creek in its
small valley with the eye. Good colours and sharpness, fine diagonal lines.

Olá Carlos, de facto é a única foto de Balsa Nova no TE. Gosto muito da composição de verdes aqui e da diagonal do rio a começar mesmo no cantinho e a levar-nos por aí fora aos zig-zags. O céu enublado também ajuda à profundidade da imagem e a panorâmica de Vila Velha está espectacular.

Hi Carlos,
Not the best light in the world here, but the final result with the different patches of green all spread around workes pretty good. Those big fat cloud add nice depth, withat house in the background as a nice focal point.

that verdant green scenery is all inviting! no place like home!
the little brook, the blue grey sky, the compo, the everything speak the taste of the copyrighter! i would love to live/ retire in a place like this! see that house from afar...that is so ideal!! colors and lighting all tops!

those fat fluffy clouds remind me of something I've already seen, maybe more then once in my life ;o)
I think they really helped you out here, creating a beautiful dof; also, the contrast against the different green patches on the ground is beautiful to look at. I like this shot and the way you've presented it!

ola, carlos!

i like the scenery. very pastoral and lively green. and the cloud cover looks like a blanket about to fall on the meadows. i like that 3D "space" between the ground and the cloudy sky. saw it several times in ecuador too.

floydian is right about the light. but that's not the end of the world given the possibilities of PP (hint: check out what he did in his WS to yesterday's avene's post).

my compliments and thanks for sharing this little corner of brazil, friend.

Yes, the green colours look nice here, but the sky is too yellow for my taste, so that it makes the grass yellow too. I've tried a ws, hope you don't mind!

Hello Carlos. This capture is unique because it looks more like Ireland than Malaysia. Excellent space with loose trees making this excellent landscape. The house is well anchored on the sweet spot and I like the threatening sky here. Beautiful job with light and shadow balanced so well and thanks for sharing. Jusni
