Carnival in Recife means GALO DA MADRUGADA !
GALO DA MADRUGADA ( The giant rooster of the dawn ! ) is the most traditional party in the center of Recife.
It happens on Saturday morning and it is a huge parade organized by the city dwellers. The parade is in the Guiness Book of Records as the largest Carnival Group in the world with over one million people in the streets downtown. About thirty "Trios Elétricos" cheer the crowd on dancing to the rhythm of all kinds of Frevo music.Frevo music is the main rythm of Carnaval of Recife-Pernambuco!
That GIANT rooster is one of many other decoratives of our Carnival and it stays those 5 days "fixed" on the Duarte Coelho Bridge (downtown). It carries a colorful umbrella- the symbol of FREVO- in its beak.
No car traffic there during those days! No wonder !!!
Today is Carnaval in RECIFE. Today is Saturday and that´s the right day of GALO DA MADRUGADA parade!

Nivaldo,
como já disse, considero o Carnaval do Nordeste, particularmente o de Pernambuco, mais culturalmente representativo do que os das demais regiões do país.
Aqui tanto a versão original, quanto os dois workshops, estão muito bem iluminados e com um bom POV.

In this simple composition, you've presented the most brilliant array of colors, and put it into perspective with the informative note. So it is Carnival in Recife, and I feel like I have seen it personally. I am impressed by the camera, the post-processing and the photographer.
