Photographer’s Note

The Pole of the Parque dos Lençóis, on the oriental part of the State encompasses the municipal areas of Humberto de Campos, Primeira Cruz, Santo Amaro and Barreirinhas. Its major attraction is the Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses, an amazing natural phenomenon to which Barreirinhas is the gateway.

The Parque Nacional dos Lençóis is an ecological paradise with 155,000 hectares of dunes, rivers, lakes and wetlands. A singular ecological phenomenon, its has been formed during thousands of years of wind movement. The landscape is astonishing wonderful: a white sandy carpet without end in sight, as if you were on a desert. Unlike a desert however, there is plenty of rain and rivers in the region. It is the rain that actually creates the Lencois and its landscape. The rain fills the uncountable lakes and the magnificent landscape. Some of the most famous lakes are the Lagoa Azul and the Lagoa Bonita for their beauty and excellent swimming conditions. Not to miss in your trip are the villages of Caburé, Atins and Mandacaru.

belíssima vista com uma simplicidade plástica impressionante. lindos detalhes como a ondulação das areias, as pequenas nuvens no céu e a fresta cheia de água entre as dunas num enquadramento muito bem feito. aquela faixa de sombra é outro elemento chave na compo, parabéns

No Rio Grande do Norte há ótimas lagoas (de água doce e super limpa) em meio às dunas, quando no período chuvoso. Aí deve ser o mesmo, penso eu...

Gostava muito de conhecer este Parque , penso que deve ter bastante vento apesar de não gostar dele , mas acho lindo estas lagoas de agua azul no meio das dunas espero um dia conhecer este paraíso brasileiro , bonito ponto de visão ,belos detalhes, parabéns!!

Your capture included a fantastic and unbelievable landscape view that the place looks like from another planet. The textures on white dunes are incredible with foot prints but contrasts between white dunes, muddy water and blue sky are just speechless. Have a nice weekend.

once again sand dunes but what a great difference! It looks like almost a polar landscape thanks to the white sand. A nice composition wiht very good foreground.

White sands...something we don't see that often. Like the sands in the BG bathed by the light and the slice of water puddle between the dunes. Good contrast between the dunes and the blue sky. Good work
