Series on my trip to SALVADOR - The Capital City of the State of BAHIA - The NORTHEASTERN region of BRAZIL - My Country's first Capital City - #017 !

MERCADO MODELO - MODEL MARKET
It was inaugurated back in 1912 and it's located in the COMÉRCIO/Commerce Neighborhood, in the PRAÇA DO CAYRU/Cayru square, one of the oldest and most traditional in the city. It's a touristic attraction, right in front of the BAÍA DE TODOS OS SANTOS/All Saints' Bay, close to the ELEVADOR LACERDA/Lacerda Elevator/Lift and to the PELOURINHO. It shelters 263 small shops that sell all kinds of souvenirs from BAHIA. There are also two restaurants with local cuisine: the MARIA DE SÃO PEDRO and the CAMAFEU DE OXOSSI.
In this photograph, behind the market, one can see both the "Boat Terminal" (from where boats leave to many other places around the BAÍA DE TODOS OS SANTOS and the coast, such as the ILHA DE ITAPARICA/ITAPARICA Island and VILA DE MORRO DE SÃO PAULO/Village of St. Paul Hill in the ILHA DE TINHARÉ/TINHARÉ Island, the most well known destinations, and the FORTE SÃO MARCELO/São Marcelo Fort.

Olà Ney,

I know this view, a nice memory of my travel in Salcador!
Very nice veiw with a POV very well selected. I like especially the building white anb lue which arise very well in the image. The sea's color is too superb. A very good photowork.

Hello Ney,
I like the point of view with the roof of the market pointing to the boat terminal from where the eyes move naturally towards the fort. Very nice light with good colours and sharpness. A very pleasing image.

Mercado modelo, gostei de visitar esse local. No subsolo descobriram uma antiga senzada que foi reformada na forma de memorail senão me engano, é bem interessante, mas tem um forte cheiro de mofo.
Bonita composição e bonitas cores.
