A typical view from the "Pelourinho", the old square located in the historic center of Salvador de Bahia. That place was compeletely restored thanks to several years program and today it looks absoluelty marvelous.
It is quite a touristic of course but the place kept a charming flavour from the past especially because of the Baroque architecture and the steep streets paved with stones. When walking at night, one can encounter many typical activities like the women preparing the "Moqueca de Peixe" which is very tastys coco milk based mixture of vegetables and fish. One can see improvised concerts in different cafés close to that place. In fact, you always have great smells and songs escpaing from the windows above you.
Cropped, levels adjusted, USM applied.

Superb point of view to show this really marvelous place. I love hadndling of light conditions here. Wonderful architecture is very well exposed. I like the street going downwards and amazing shade of sky.
Great Work, Steven and also interesting note.

I have to agree with what the two other members wrote above on the aesthetic part, except for one thing!
You overdid with the sharpening! So much that halos are showing pretty bad!
A USM filter of 150/0.4/1 to 250/0.4/1 (depending of the original size) is more appropriate! This can be done in Adobe™ Photoshop. You can also use canon Digital Photo Professional with a sharpening of 4 to 5 during JPG exporting!
Check my picture named “mosquito” to see what I’m talking about!
Also a bit of bighting on the left shadowed area can be applied! The person on the left walking in the pictures frame, the way he moves his hands and the red t-shirt will balance the colors on the frame!
