Photographer's Note

Founded in March 29, 1549, Salvador was the first capital of Brazil, a position he held for 214 years (1549-1763). The Bay of All Saints was known by the Portuguese since 1501, its strategic location on the coast of Brazil will provide the links Portugal - Brazil - Africa - Asia and equidistance between North and South of Brazil, together with the conditions required for the safe haven and correct operation of the vessels. All this determined its choice as the ideal place to build the capital of Brazil.
