Photographer’s Note

I'm continuing showing different beaches of the World, this time - Morro de São Paulo, Bahia state, Brazil.

Beautiful island 50 km south from city Salvador de Bahia. This place is close to be a paradise on the Earth: sandy beaches, beautiful Brazilian girls, no cars, a lot of coco palms along shore, natural forests, sun - sun - sun and warm Atlantic Ocean...

Soccer is like a heart beating for Brazilians... every day local kids are playing soccer on the beach, their favorite time is sunset time - it is not so hot at his time...

I really like this one, so much more than a simple sunset, the clear silhouettes of the players and the frozen action is very nice work.

Morro São Paulo realmente é um local muito bonito, acho que mais conhecido pelos estrageiros que dos brasileiros mesmo! O que mais gostei de lá são as ruas de areia!

espetacular shot. I'm amazed by the kids' silhouettes playing futebol and the great warm tones. It's definitely an excellent and attractive image. Great post!

Hi Piotr,
Impressive capture, with great ND grad management, framing, and timing. The weights are very well balanced: the triangular formation composed by the players on the left, the kicker and the ball close to the sun, and the solitary player on the right, offseting that prominent formation. You were very fortunate in freezing the action in its most dramatic moment while considering the sun position. Did you use a tripod to make the filter still and go for a burst of shots, or was it more like a hand-held, informal approach? I would like to see it with framing. It would probably add to the composition.

Wonderful shot! It takes a lot to get me worked up about a people shot, but this one is excellent. My brother lived in Rio for a while, and from what he tells me this is about as brasileiro as it gets. It's certainly consistent with my experience in South America. Soccer really is life there. I love those silhouhettes and the action that you captured. Fantastic work.
