Photographer’s Note

Nothing special about this old picture. I just liked very much the colors of it, and want to share with you, clever photographers! It is important to note that this is a sunrise and not a sunset. The sunset at the island of Morro de São Paulo, Bahia - Brasil is completely different in many ways: color, atmosphere, the shape of sun and sea... Living where I live, I have the great privilege to watch wonderful and astonishing sunsets and sunrises, and I like a lot to capture the moment, however I have to learn how to do it in a nice and perfect way! ;)

I am glad your 2nd TE post is a sunrise [yes, it does look very much like sunset!] and I see you live where the sea is facing EAST which is really very interesting because last year I visited a place off Semporna/Sabah [see my travelogues] that is also facing EAST and it is a fantastic coastal region with the best islands I have seen in the world for diving, the world-known Sipadan diving spot made famous by Jacques Costeau.

When facing EAST, you will get beautiful sunrise scenery :) and this one is a good proof of it. Very nice warm color tone of the sun rising above the horizon [which is tilted, so you need to correct it on your computer or at shooting]. I like the silhouette of palm and roof tops.

I think your exposure setting is fine for this one, even if it is set to auto mode.

There are some great Brazilian photographers on TE, and perhaps you can visit their galleries and give them some critiques. For me, I would suggest you use some software [like Irfanview or Photofiltre] to correct your tilt, resize to 800pixel and 300kb size limit before you upload.

Hi,
Nice sunset view, the intermingling of orange, blue & dark colors creates a beauty of this photo. By the way i found the horizon tilts and lots of space on the bottom that i think shouldn't be there, so i did a little WS and hope you don't mind and find it useful. TFS
