Photographer’s Note

The victoria amazonica is a typical water plant of the Amazon. It has an enormous leaf in the shape of a circle, which stays over the water surface, and can reach up to 2.5 meters in diameter and sustain up to 40 kg if they are well distributed over its surface.

A vitória-régia é mesmo única. Nada se compara a ela, na sua majestade sobre as águas amazônicas. A imagem está esplêndida, luz, cores e nitidez excelentes.

The light is quite low and creates nice contrasts and makes the colour popping-out.

Esta planta freqüenta minha memória desde a infância quando li a respeito dela. Soube pelo Discovery que sua flor se abre uma noite, apenas uma vez ao ano, para capturar um determinado inseto e se fecha, na noite seguinte se abre novamente para liberá-lo e fenece. Ótimo o seu retrato com boa cor e nitidez. excelente a nota também. Parabéns.

Those are one of the most impressive plants ever!
Otherwise I notice the lush surroundings with the dense vegetation, serving as home for numerous insects and other small creatures...
The scene is well framed with good details, a fine documentary of the habitat!

A festival og green colors very well colected with details and nuances. Vey good managment of light too. But here I like especially the framing very well selected which give an image very graphic with a greta depht.
