Photographer’s Note

This text and image belong to my Travelogue "Seven days in the Amazônia"

It is a way of a farm to the edges of the river, are 4 km it ties the city, it is well pleasant. In this passage we pass for forests, quagmires, and the river, to the right, that shows an interesting phenomenon of this time. In consequence of the sudden increase of the level of the river, and the strong rapidses caused for drawn out rains, land pieces if unfasten of the edges and go down the river as floating islands. Many are so great that it has ties trees and animals in top (we saw capivara and serpent in one of them), and also drag the logs that offer danger for navigation.

É um caminho de uma fazenda às margens do rio, são 4 km ate a cidade, é bem agradável. Nesse percurso passamos por florestas, pântanos, e o rio, à direita, que mostra um fenômeno interessante dessa época. Em conseqüência do aumento repentino do nível do rio, e das fortes correntezas ocasionadas pelas chuvas prolongadas, pedaços de terra se desprendem das margens e descem o rio como ilhas flutuantes. Muitas são tão grandes que tem ate árvores e animais em cima (vimos capivara e serpente em uma delas), e arrastam também as toras que oferecem perigo para navegação.

Excellent composition with beautiful vivid colours and perfect lighting. The perspective is also stunning with good depth. Splendid work!

Hello Antonio,
Along with the mighty amazon comes mighty obstacles when the floods arrive. It is fascinating to see complete islands floating downriver with wildlife of any species attached. The shame is that most of them will not survive as they enter a different zone and do not know where to find food. Except for the SERPENTS....

Hi Antonio. Well you didn't waste any part of the composition. I especially like how you employed the braches from above as it's not overly intrusive. The light at your back made for some longer shadows. The only downside is that the leading line of a path doesn't lead our eyes to the focal point off on the right. Still it's very beautiful. Well done Antonio.

Ficou boa a perspectiva da estradinha. Nos semntimos tentados a seguir o caminho para ver aonde vai dar. A sombra ficou legal, as cores, tudo. Boa foto.

Belas cores, contrastes e luminosidade. Acho os postes de luz e os fios um pouco intrusivos na composicao, mas imagino que nao tinha como evita-los. Continuo com vc nesta viagem!

Olá António,
Mais uma bela fotografia, tão bem capturada, no POV escolhido e luminosidade especial de fim de tarde. A cerca branca, domina a imagem num grafismo muito interessante e levando o nosso olhar lá para o fundo. Belo jogo de sombras e cores. Interessante nota sobre o fenómeno de desprendimento da terra das margens. A caminhada de 4km parece-me muito apetecível!
